Good job St Austell!

Who wants to work in a brewery? Take a look at the careers website we've built for St Austell.

St Austell Brewery bought our long-term friends Bath Ales last year. Liking what we did with the Bath Ales website, they asked for our help building a new recruitment site for all their brands.

The site had to explain the range of summer jobs and long-term careers available across their four core brands – St Austell Brewery, Bath Ales, Beerd and Graze. With roles in finance and HR, through to hotel managers, chefs, barman and brewers, there was a lot to talk about.

To give St Austell flexibility to build pages as they wish, we eschewed the fixed page template approach. Instead, we created a series of content blocks that could be added to a blank template. By doing so we enabled St Austell to tailor the website to their content, rather than the other, inflexible, way round. And by building this functionality within WordPress, we eliminated the learning curve of a new CMS.

The main development challenge was integrating our back-end with Broadbean, the job-board St Austell use to advertise their available roles. We worked closely with Broadbean’s developers throughout the project, to create a single job-posting process for both platforms and ensure data was securely passed between the two.

The success of the site, even in it’s first couple of months, has led to St Austell commissioning us to design a new website for their St Austell Wines brand, due to launch in November.
