Sales, services, brand awareness: websites that work

20 years of websites, over 100 happy brands

We’ve been building websites for two decades, for local companies and global brands, charities and governmental departments. We built Jack Daniel’s and UK Aid Direct’s first UK websites, drove millions in personalisation sales for Marmite, helped the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association communicate securely, and supported Meantime Brewing as it grew from craft brewer to global brand. Whether you need eCommerce or multi-language, WordPress or Drupal, we’ve got the experience to help.

Campaign sites and landing pages

Small, perfectly formed and with a single-minded, short-term purpose, campaign sites are essential components of big advertising and promotional campaigns. They allow you to communicate a specific message, or drive audiences to perform a singular action, without distraction.

In 2018 Meantime Brewing wanted to drive trial of their beer. Their simple idea – offer people a free pint from a mystery brand and let the beer speak for itself. Clearly this couldn’t be delivered on their main website so we built an unbranded campaign site which the ATL campaign drove people to.

The landing page had a clear and simple CTA – complete this form to claim your free pint. 44,194 people signed up and 18,690 went on to claim their mystery pint – that’s a pretty staggering 42% redemption rate. So the campaign and campaign site worked a treat. What about the main site? It subsequently saw an 1100% increase in visitors.

eCommerce sites

eCommerce sites can vary wildly, from selling a single product to seemingly selling everything on earth. Whatever the size, the goal is simple: to get your customer from discovery to payment as smoothly as possible.

Sail Lofts own a series of luxury holiday properties in St Ives. We helped them create a website that showcases the stunning accommodation and scenery and, most importantly, drives bookings. To this end, we put Sail Lofts’ glowing customer and press reviews at the heart of the site. And to ensure real-time room availability, we integrated Anytime Booking’s reservations engine. Within a month of launch, the new website proved its worth, with increased online bookings.

In 2016 we built the website for Marmite’s personalisation campaign. On the face of it, the functionality looks far simpler than the Sail Lofts site – there are far fewer products to choose from, for instance. The development, however, required more custom functionality. We built the basket and checkout system using Braintree, to ensure payment is taken without directing to a third-party page. The shipping calculator accounts for different weights and sizes of boxes (depending on the number of jars bought). An API allows real-time order processing by the fulfilment company and the site integrates with Unilever’s global CRM platform. All this functionality and third-party integration proved its worth within the first month, as the site generated a stunning £500k in sales.

Brochure sites

Brochure sites exist to tell a story – the values of the company, the history of the product, the services on offer. They’re generally low on functionality, but high on visual design: focused on communicating the messages clearly and portraying the brand in the best light.

Product design agency Matter needed their website to better showcase their services and work, and introduce people to their new offices, which include a co-working and event space alongside their design and prototyping studios. We took a standard WordPress CMS and built an anything but standard front-end on top of this. Its horizontal scrolling layout and split-site structure provide a striking introduction to Matter, with the micro-interactions and fine details demonstrating their “Difference, made”.

Choose a custom service, not a cookie-cutter solution

Websites can serve a wide variety of purposes, representing a company for years and driving sales for weeks. Which means there’s no one-size-fits-all website solution. That’s why we approach each brief with a blank slate, conducting a scoping phase to find out your needs and KPIs, and your audience’s needs and behaviours. Together, we can then plan, design and build a website that delivers on all fronts.
