A competition worth raising a glass to

A signed bottle of rum from Mick Jagger? That’s one way to get people’s attention.

Working with Crossfire Hurricane, we created a campaign microsite giving Tesco customers the chance to win a bottle of Crossfire Hurricane premium Jamaican rum, personally signed by Mick Jagger. Built from the ground up in a tight timeframe, the responsive competition site combines a bold consumer experience with some clever technology behind the scenes to keep entries secure, compliant and easy to manage.

What Crossfire Hurricane needed

As part of an upcoming campaign with Tesco, Crossfire Hurricane needed a dedicated microsite where consumers could enter a prize draw and be in with a chance of winning the rather special prize.

The site needed to feel like a natural extension of the Crossfire Hurricane brand, while being fully responsive and simple for consumers to navigate and enter.

There was also one slightly more complicated requirement: entrants needed to upload an image of their Tesco receipt as part of their entry.

More than just a competition form

We designed and developed the microsite to make the entry process as simple and engaging as possible, using Crossfire Hurricane’s existing branding and assets wherever possible to create a consistent experience with the brand’s main website.

But behind the relatively straightforward front end, there was a lot more going on.

As every entrant is required to upload an image of their receipt, we needed a robust way of checking those submissions before they entered the competition system.

To do this, we implemented advanced AI-powered image moderation that validated all uploads before being processed.

The result is a competition experience that feels simple on the surface, while doing a lot of work behind the scenes.

Secure from entry to outcome

Kerve host the microsite and securely store the competition data throughout the campaign.

Entries are captured through the competition backend, with the uploaded receipt imagery and associated data securely managed throughout the competition period. Once entries close, the relevant data will be passed back to Crossfire Hurricane so they can select their winner.

The microsite itself will remain live beyond the competition window, allowing the campaign to continue working for the brand after entries have closed.

The result

The finished microsite brings Crossfire Hurricane’s campaign to life with a responsive, on-brand experience that makes entering simple for consumers, while giving the client a robust and secure platform behind the scenes.

The competition is now live and running until the end of September, giving Tesco customers the chance to enter for the ultimate Crossfire Hurricane prize: a bottle of their rum signed by Mick Jagger, named after the opening lyric of “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”.

Now that’s a prize worth winning.
